Faculty, Student Events Cancelled at ESU

More events were found. Please discard previous release and use this one.

Emporia, KS (03/13/2020) — Four events planned by faculty and students over the next three weeks at Emporia State University are cancelled. These cancellations come as the university responds to the COVID-19 pandemic by following social distancing practices, which include avoiding mass events of congregate areas.

Cancelled are:

  • The bone marrow swab drive sponsored by the Department of Nursing. It was planned for Monday and Tuesday.
  • "Social Media: Friend or Foe?" This presentation by Mark Phillips, technical leader of the digital forensics section of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office Criminalistics Laboratory, was planned for Monday. It will be rescheduled for fall 2020.
  • Taste: The Power Smoothie, was a March for Hunger event planned for Tuesday.
  • C.H.E.W., another March for Hunger event, was planned for April 2

As of Monday, all events at Emporia State University are cancelled through April 10. This includes events planned by community members using campus venues.
