Summer Camps Offered at Emporia State

Emporia, KS (06/02/2025) — Youths of all ages can learn new skills and have fun during camps this summer at Emporia State University. The offerings include science, art, theatre, esports and athletics.

Science Camp

  • Four sessions beginning June 10.
  • Each session offered Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
  • Varying ages from 6 through 14.
  • Cost: $125
  • Registration deadlines staggered; first deadline is June 6.

The Prophet Aquatic Research & Outreach Center (PAROC) and Emporia Recreation Center partner for a unique summer camp experience for young learners.

Science Mini Camps

  • Offered half days Monday, June 16 through Wednesday, June 18
  • For ages 10 through 14
  • Mornings: Prairie Exploration, 9 a.m. to noon each day
  • Afternoons: Aquatic Adventure, 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Cost: $50 per half-day camp (snacks provided)
  • Deadline to register: June 13

Offered by faculty and staff at PAROC.

eSports + STEM

  • Offered Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
  • For ages 13 through 18
  • Cost: $75 (scholarships are available)
  • Deadline to register: June 9

CyROC, ESU's Cybersecurity Research and Outreach Center, hosts a week of hands-on fun building robots, creating awesome designs for a robot parade and working together to solve problems in ESU's high-tech eSports arena.

Arts Camp

  • Offered Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
  • For students in sixth through eighth grade in fall 2025
  • Cost: $150 (scholarships are available)
  • Deadline to register: June 17

Presented by the ESU School of Visual and Performing Arts faculty and students, campers will explore visual art, music and theatre through a fun, space-themed experience.

Athletic Camps

Organized by ESU Athletics, these camps are available for football, soccer and softball from rookies to experienced players.

Softball:

  • Rookie camp (Grades 3 through 8 in fall 2025)Monday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.Cost: $38.Registration deadline is June 8.

  • Elite camp (high school students in fall 2025)Tuesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.

    • Cost: $120.
    • Registration deadline is June 9.
  • Prospect camp (high school students in fall 2025)
    • Choice of three dates - June 16, July 8 or Aug. 17 - at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.
    • Cost: $130.
    • Registration deadline is one day prior to the day of camp.
  • Team camp (high school students in fall 2025)Choice of three dates - June 23, June 25 or July 7 - at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.
    • Choice of three dates - June 23, June 25 or July 7 - at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.
    • Cost: $600 per team.
    • Registration deadline is one day prior to the day of camp.

Soccer:

  • Development camp (Grades 4 through 8 in fall 2025)
    • June 10 to 13 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at the ESU Soccer Pitch.
    • Cost: $106.
    • Registration deadline is June 9.
  • Prospect camp (high school students in fall 2025)
    • Choice of two dates - June 15 and Aug. 2 - from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Welch Stadium and the ESU HPER Building.
    • Cost: $106.
    • Registration deadline is one day prior to the day of camp.
  • Prospect camp (morning only) (high school students in fall 2025)
    • July 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Welch Stadium and the ESU HPER Building.
    • Cost: $54.
    • Registration deadline is July 3.
  • Youth camp (Grades 1 through 4 in fall 2025)
    • Aug. 4 through 7 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at the ESU Soccer Pitch.
    • Cost: $79.50.
    • Registration deadline is Aug. 3.

Football:

  • Rookie youth camp (age 6 to 14)
    • June 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. to noon each day.
    • Cost: $65.
    • Final registration deadline is June 15.
  • Individual prospect camp (high school students age 14 to 18in fall 2025)
    • Choice of two dates based on positions - July 12 and 17 - at Trusler Sports Complex, 801 Trusler Road.
    • Cost: $65.
    • Registration deadline for free T-shirt is June 2.
    • Walk-ups welcome
