Eleven students working toward their bachelor's degrees will receive College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Honor Scholarships. The group will be honored next month during a reception. The scholarships are awarded to students entering their final year of study.

Emporia State University is putting a quarter-million dollar gift to work attracting students to its music program. The gift from the estate of Mildred Fulhage (BME 1936) is making the decision to come to Emporia State an easy one for 20 students this fall.

Reserved for business students from Kansas high schools who maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average, the scholarship is benefiting 25 students in its 12th year at Emporia State.

Area Students Receive Full-ride Scholarships to Attend Emporia State University

Emporia State University recently awarded three Virginia Endly Memorial Scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year. The Endly scholarship is a full-ride scholarship equal to current in-state tuition and fees, the current Resident Hall fee (double room) including the full meal plan and the current average cost of books.

Emporia State University names Shepherd Scholars

Celebrating the promise of continued academic achievement, Emporia State University introduced its 11 newest Shepherd Scholars Thursday, May 3. "Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we have the opportunity to recognize some real rock stars, our best and brightest students," said Dr. Michael D. Shonrock, ESU president, expressing appreciation to the Shepherd family of Emporia. Augusta Shepherd and her late husband, R. Herschel Shepherd of Emporia established the Shepherd Scholars program in 1994 to provide financial support for ESU's most accomplished students as they approach their senior year in college.
