Walter Brown Joins Emporia State University Foundation Board

Emporia, KS (12/14/2021) — An employment law litigation attorney is a new trustee on the 49-member board for the Emporia State University Foundation.

Walter M. Brown of Overland Park graduated from Emporia State in 1995 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He earned his juris doctorate at Texas Southern University in 1998. Brown currently is a shareholder and litigation attorney at Ogletree Deakins in Kansas City, Missouri.

"I love Emporia State University," said Brown. "My wife and I met there years ago, and my son attends there now. I am extremely proud of all that the university has accomplished in recent years, and I want to do whatever I can to help with continued improvements.

Brown is one of eight new trustees on the ESU Foundation board. Trustees serve as role models for potential donors by generously contributing of their own time and resources. They are actively involved in university events and programs and serve to raise philanthropic resources to advance the mission of Emporia State University.
