Kirsten Ford Joins Emporia State University Foundation Board

Emporia, KS (12/14/2021) — A former associate commissioner of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is a new trustee on the 49-member board for the Emporia State University Foundation.

Kirsten A. Ford of Palmer Lake, Colorado, was a student-athlete on the Hornet tennis team while an undergraduate at Emporia State. Originally from Wakarusa, Kansas, Ford earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2011 then a master of business administration in 2013 from ESU. In February, Ford begins a new role as operations support specialist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

"Since my parents both graduated from Emporia State, I have been a lifelong supporter of ESU," said Ford. "I am grateful for the experiences that I had as a student, especially the ability to work directly with a professor on research and the opportunity to represent the university on the tennis court, which have contributed to my success after college. I am excited to continue to support the advancement of Emporia State by serving on the board to engage with fellow alumni and future Hornets."

Ford is one of eight new trustees on the ESU Foundation board. Trustees serve as role models for potential donors by generously contributing of their own time and resources. They are actively involved in university events and programs and serve to raise philanthropic resources to advance the mission of Emporia State University.
