Emporia State to offer wide range of summer camps in STEM, arts and athletics
Emporia, KS (04/27/2026) — Students of all ages and interests can look forward to a fun and engaging experience with the many camps and activities at Emporia State this summer. From science to sports to art and theatre, participants can build skills, explore interests and gain hands-on experience, with something for everyone. The following lists the current camps, with more still planned.
STEM
Summer Science Symposium
Planned for the last week of May or the first couple days of June.The event is a professional development opportunity for local secondary-level science teachers with faculty from the School of Science and Mathematics.
MASTER-IT
June 1 through 5
Available to students who have finished seventh or eighth grade.
$275 per camper. Includes housing, all meals, T-shirt, materials and entrance fees.
Students will attend workshops and sessions led by ESU faculty and STEM professionals. Social activities are planned for evenings. Participants will stay in an ESU residence hall and be chaperoned by ESU STEM students. Limited to 15 campers. Deadline to register is May 2. PAROC Mini Camp: Ages 10 to 14 years

Inspired by STEM Camp

Available to students beginning sixth through ninth grade in fall 2026.
$125 per camper
An engaging, hands-on experience where campers will dive into robotics, coding, engineering design and science experiments while strengthening essential math skills through fun, real-world applications. Limited to 15 students. Deadline to register is July 7. Register at emporia.edu/stemoutreach.
Art and Theatre:
ESU Theatre Summer Youth Production + Camp
Auditions are May 5, 6 to 8 p.m. in Roosevelt Hall
Camp is June 29 through July 11
For students who have completed fourth through eighth grade.
Young actors and technicians are welcome to participate in this experience.ESU Theatre presents Disney and Pixar's Finding Nemo KIDS, a new stage musical based on the Pixar film.
A two-week camp will be held June 29 through July 11. All who audition are eligible to participate in the production. The cost is $150, with needs-based scholarships available upon request. Rehearsals are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Performances are set for July 10 and 11.
ESU Art Summer Camp
For students beginning sixth through ninth grade in fall 2026.
June 8 through 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$100 per camper, $75 for additional campers per family.
Campers will explore a variety of two- and three-dimensional arts including drawing, printmaking and sculpting. Workshops are led by ESU Art students. The week ends with a pop-up art exhibition in the ESU galleries.
