Emporia State Offers In-State Tuition to Missouri Students
Emporia, KS (06/27/2018) — Students who live in Andrew, Bates, Caldwell, Clinton, DeKalb, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston and Ray counties in Missouri can enroll at Emporia State University in Kansas without paying out-of-state tuition.
A total of 14 counties in Missouri - Andrew, Bates, Buchanan, Caldwell, Cass, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Platte and Ray - are included in the regional university's Corky Plus tuition plan, which offers in-state tuition.
Emporia State, named a College of Distinction for its high-impact, real-world learning experiences and active campus life, offers over 200 academic programs in the School of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, The Teachers College and School of Library and Information Management, is consistently recognized for its educational excellence and affordability. Additionally, for two consecutive years, 98 percent of graduates have begun careers in their fields of study or have been accepted into post-graduate programs.

According to September 2017 data from the Institute for College Access & Success, ESU's Class of 2016 reported an average debt load of $20,433, significantly lower than the Missouri average student debt of $27,532 and Kansas average debt of $28,776. The Best Colleges 2018 guidebook by U.S. News and World Report, ESU is ranked No. 2 in lowest student debt of all Midwest regional universities. U.S. News also cited ESU's School of Business as a best value for both in-state and out-of-state students and ranked the online graduate education program in the Top 100 programs in the nation.
