Archives Exhibit Explores World War II in Children's Books
Emporia, KS (11/06/2024) — From Nov. 8 through 15, ESU Special Collections and Archives hosts the All Veterans Tribute Week exhibit "The Children's War: Images of World War II in Children's Books."
This exhibit showcases original illustrations from children's books written in the 1940s and '50s and explores how World War II is depicted in these stories, considering topics such as postwar rebuilding in Axis nations and the experiences of European refugees in the United States.
The Children's War will be on view in the front windows of William Allen White Library on the Emporia State University campus.
