Tickets on sale now for 5 productions of 'Frozen: The Broadway Musical'
Emporia, KS (10/08/2026) — In a change from previous years, Emporia State University Theatre plans five full productions of the Homecoming musical, which, for 2026, is Disney's "Frozen: The Broadway Musical."
The five shows are spread across four days and presented in Bruder Theatre inside ESU's King Hall:
- Thursday, Oct. 22 - 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 23 - 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 24 - 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 25 - 2 p.m.
Based on the award-winning animated Disney movie, "Frozen: The Broadway Musical" presents Princesses Anna (Charlotte Proctor, Des Moines, Iowa) and Elsa (Bailey Dorr, Des Moines, Iowa) of the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she's desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains.
As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home - with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff (Elliot Johnston, Basehor), his loyal reindeer Sven (Jeremiah Johnson, Salina) and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf (Jarrett Davis, Rossville). Alex Knudsen, Branson, Missouri, plays Hans.
Full of magic, humor and a stunning musical score, "Frozen" is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance and finding the real meaning of true love. The ESU production is directed by Aubrey Wilson with choreography by Marah McFadden and music direction by Dr. Joshua Donaldson.
Tickets for the production cost $25 for adults; $20 for ESU staff, seniors and ESU Theatre Guild members; $10 for children under 18 and free for ESU students with valid ID. They may be ordered online at https://emporia.link/theatre-tickets.
