Science Saturday: Explore the world of plants at ESU

Emporia, KS (03/13/2026) — As spring approaches and the landscape begins to wake up, plants will soon fill our yards, gardens and surrounding areas. But how much do you really know about plants? Join Emporia State University and the Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center team from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 28 at ESU's Science Hall for a fun hands-on learning experience dedicated to all things plants.

Science Saturday: Going Green at ESU offers something for everyone and will cover prairie plants, tropical plants, plant anatomy and stunning flowers.

Activities include a guided tour of the ESU greenhouse, learning about plant anatomy using microscopy, discovering how to garden with native plants and making paper using recycled materials.

The event is free and open to all ages-and no green thumb is required! Space is limited, and each attendee must register individually at esuparoc.com.
