ESU's PAROC to host Riparian Restoration volunteer event
Emporia, KS (06/01/2026) — The Emporia State University Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center is hosting a Riparian Restoration volunteer event on Saturday, June 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This educational, hands-on activity involves restoring native lands by removing invasive species and planting native seeds in the Campus Woods near PAROC.
The day also features an interactive workshop for high school biology teachers led by Erika Martin, associate professor in the School of Science and Mathematics, and the Native Lands Restoration Collaborative. Teachers participating in the Riparian activity will be able to take lesson plan guides and free materials back to their schools.
The Riparian Restoration event welcomes volunteers from the Emporia community. There is no cost, and anyone interested in participating can email paroc@emporia.edu for more details.
