ESU library blends science and magic in escape room adventure

Emporia, KS (09/25/2025) — Can you discover the secret of the Philosopher's Stone?

Find out as William Allen White Library on the Emporia State campus invites the public to become alchemists-in-training and solve STEM-based puzzles in the new alchemy-themed escape room called The Philosopher's Quest - an adventure inspired by the world of Harry Potter.

Sessions are available Monday, Sept. 29, through Thursday, Oct. 2, from 3 to 8 p.m. daily. To reserve a time, contact Alex Mosakowski at amosakow@emporia.edu. There is no cost for ESU students and employees and a $5 per person charge for others.

The event is part of a monthlong exhibit called Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine in Harry Potter's World, hosted by William Allen White Library in partnership with the National Library of Medicine.
