Mark Warner in Emporia State Summer Theatre production, 'The Monster Under the Bed'

When Emporia State University's Summer Theatre presents its final production of the season on July 20, Mark Warner of Salina, Kan., will be involved in the production of "The Monster Under the Bed."

Written by Kevin Dyer, "Monster" tells the story of Ben, a young boy with a BIG problem. His mom is acting grumpy, his best friend Vince has stolen his precious binoculars and his dad is far, far away - oh, and there's a monster under the bed. But when Ben swaps places with the under-bed monster, Ben's life - and his school - is turned inside out, and upside down.

This funny and thrilling play for children about friendship and facing up to fear is told through an ensemble cast.

Warner works in the scene shop.

The show runs July 20-23 in the Karl C. Bruder Theatre in King Hall. The July 20-22 shows have , a 7:30 p.m. curtain. The Saturday, July 23 show is a 2 p.m. matinee. Individual tickets and season passes are available from the university box office at (620) 341-6378.
