Mark Warner appears in production of 'Boeing Boeing'

2014 Mar 26

Mark Warner of Salina, Kan., was part of the Emporia State University Theatre production of "Boeing Boeing," which was revived on Broadway in 2008 in a Tony-winning production.

The farce features Bernard, an American architect who resides in Paris, France. When Bernard's best pal, Robert, comes for a visit, Bernard divulges that he is engaged to marry three different women.

The women are Gloria, Gabriella and Gretchen. Each fianc?e is an airline hostess with frequent layovers; Gloria works for TWA, Gabriella works for Air Italia, and Gretchen works for Lufthansa. But when Boeing introduces a new, faster jet, all of the hostesses find themselves in Bernard's apartment at the same time, leaving Bernard and Robert to deal with the consequences. Housekeeper Bertha tries to keep "the house in order" to great comic effect.

"Boeing Boeing" is under the Direction of Professor Theresa Mitchell. Amanda Dura is the costume designer. Ron Fowlkes is the set designer. Doug Dion is the Shop Manager.

"Boeing Boeing" was first presented February 2, 1965, at the Cort Theatre, in New York City. The play is also the basis of the popular screen comedy that starred Tony Curtis, Jerry Lewis and Thelma Ritter.

The ESU production of "Boeing Boeing" ran March 5-8.
