Landon Noll in Emporia State Summer Theatre production, 'Bingo!'

2013 Jun 10

When Emporia State University's Summer Theatre opens its 59th season on June 12, Landon Noll of Valley Falls, Kan., will be involved in the production of "Bingo! The Winning Musical," in which audience members will be laughing in the aisles when they aren't playing Bingo along with the cast for prizes provided by local merchants.

The loveable characters will stop at nothing to participate in their weekly Bingo game. Vern, Honey and Patsy gather for the yearly celebration of the birth of Bingo and its founder, Edwin S. Lowe. When a storm knocks out power at the Bingo Hall, Patsy and Honey remind each other of a night that began in the same way 15 years ago.

In flashback, Honey tells us about the night Vern and Bernice had a falling out. Her daughter Alison enters the Bingo Hall in disguise in an attempt to bring Vern and her mother back together.

Noll plays Frank.

The show runs June 12 through 15, and all performances are in the Karl C. Bruder Theatre in King Hall, with a 7:30 p.m. curtain. Individual tickets and season passes are available from the university box office at (620) 341-6378.
