Fernando Cartagena a Candidate for Undergraduate Degree at Emporia State University

Fernando Alfonso Cartagena of Emporia, Kansas, was a candidate for undergraduate graduation from Emporia State University during commencement exercises May 17.

Cartagena earned a bachelor of music degree.

More than 600 students were candidates for undergraduate degrees.

Commencement speakers included Helen Van Etten of the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement address was delivered by Ed O'Malley, president and CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center.
