Courtney Romero to compete in theater festival

Courtney Romero of Piper, Kansas, will represent Emporia State University at the Kennedy Center Region V American College Theatre Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jan. 17 - 23.

At the festival, students from a seven-state region perform in a number of competitions, including the Michael Kanin Playwriting Award through the Kennedy Center and the $2,000 Irene Ryan Scholarship, which requires a nomination to audition.

Student designers, playwrights, stage managers, directors, & technicians will also present their portfolios and projects at the weeklong festival.

Romero will compete in design.
