Christopher Alderman Attends Research Symposium

Christopher Alderman of Emporia, Kansas, was among 22 faculty and students from Emporia State University who attended the 14th annual Symposium of the Kansas-IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence January 16 and 17 in Overland Park.

The K-INBRE aims to create opportunities for undergraduate students to become engaged in authentic research projects in Cellular and Developmental Biology. Through various programs and initiatives K-INBRE has provided over $1.5 million in research support to ESU. During the symposium, seven K-INBRE-funded research projects were presented by Emporia State undergraduate students.

Alderman is a junior biochemistry and molecular biology major.

His presentation was "The in vitro and In vivo effects of microRNA15a on human malignant melanoma and the newly discovered target gene of MicroRNA 15a."
