Ashlea Chapman Attends Research Symposium

Ashlea Chapman of Atchison, Kansas, was among 22 faculty and students from Emporia State University who attended the 14th annual Symposium of the Kansas-IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence January 16 and 17 in Overland Park.

The K-INBRE aims to create opportunities for undergraduate students to become engaged in authentic research projects in Cellular and Developmental Biology. Through various programs and initiatives K-INBRE has provided over $1.5 million in research support to ESU. During the symposium, seven K-INBRE-funded research projects were presented by Emporia State undergraduate students.

Chapman is a senior biology major.

Her presentation was "Metabolomics and age: a study of metabolite changes in pediatric liver samples."
